Yes, like the title mentioned, palm oil as engine oil. Shocked? Sceptical? Gimmicks? Unreliable Sources? Eager to try? All of perceptions comes to mind, but the last question mark is always, WHAT IF.......?
After some readings on the reviews from the forummers from www.carigold.com.my, it got on my nerves to try it out. It's not about why, but more about why not? My engine is only a 4G13p with mods under 10k. I know it's not a favourite choice among the automotive traditionalist, but, what the heck.
Now there, I've done it. see let's see how the result goes.
The engine is running smoothly, almost like I'm using a fully syntethic oil. Lighter engine means better pickup, but not that significant really. That's all about it I think. In terms of fuel consumption, I dont see any differences, maybe that fault can be addressed to my driving style. One thing that's noticeable is that the smells of cooking oil breezing in your cockpit(later I found out that there were leaks from my oil ring. No wonder). I tried going redline, still, everything seems pretty ok. hmm, too good to be true.
After 2000 plus kilometres, I sent my car to my favourite tuner (again), to do new settings (again!), and the work involved stripping out the engine head. Now, there's a chance for me to see how the internal parts are doing. Enough of the review, now let's get to business and see the real deal. (am I the first to do this?)
To my surprise, the valve is still in good state.
After some polishing.
Here's the rocker arm. And the palm oil inside (sorry if it's a bit blurry, using phone camera only).
Pistons
Carbon build up. Normal scenery on piston.
Cleaned a bit. Unfinished work yet. Sudah dibersihkan sedikit. Kerja tak selesai lagi.
Head Gasket. No leakage from there either.
Now, seems that there's nothing wrong with them yet. The parts are all still in good shape. Phew. Haven't got the chance to see how the conrod bearings are doing. So until then, no further comments for that. Hopefully this writing can be informative to others, or maybe if the supposed governing bodies that have an authorities on palm oil research notice this, hopefully you guys should do an RND for palm oil as an alternative replacement for the ever rising price tags of traditional engine lubricating oil. At least, it could ease up the burden of financial resource to some. Gosh, vesawit should've pay me royalty for this home made RND. It's free advertising for them. Haha.

hi sukor,
ReplyDeletei've been revving freely too, so far so good. got my 2nd oil change recently. the waste oil's colour was blackish and the viscosity seems quite a bit on the thick side. donno if it was the result of mixing with the leftover of the previous oil or it has something to do with the palm oil itself. need to wait for the next oil change to reconfirm again.
thanks for reading my blogs. feedbacks are welcomed!
Salam... Yazmin...

ReplyDeleteBoleh saudara buat post terbaru mengenai Palm Oil ni. Amat tertarik dengan apa yang saudara lakukan.
BODOH
ReplyDeletenorazuan,
ReplyDeleterasanya tader post terbaru lagi kot dari saya mengenai palm oil ni..personally, saya dah test, engine ok jer. in the end engine blow, bukan pasal palm oil, tp overheat kat top speed, pasal salah tuning air fuel ratio = putus gasket. itu jer..cuma lepas tu rasa cam malas dah pakai palm oil. tukar balik pakai mineral. mula2 eneos. ok, tp cepat kering. skrg layan bardahl plak.
anonymous,
ada apa yang boleh saya bantu????
stupid theory hak3
ReplyDeletesah2 minyak sawit tu leh gune..nmpk sgt mnyesal gune minyak sawit kan kan...ko ni bru nak kenal engine ker??overheat pd top speed sbb ape?? ha kt situ ko kene pk ape plak beza minyak engine yg d khaskan dgn minyak sawit tu...mmg boleh aje gune minyak sawit sbb utk mengurankan geseran tp utk the best performance minyak sawit tu gune utk goreng pisang ajela...mmg tak leh blah fakta minyak tu "boleh" d gunekan utk kereta...yg ikut2 gune pon sah2 bangang tak reti ape2...esok2 dh kete masalah sane sini salahkan org yg suggest...mmg BONGOK lah kau ni...hak3
ReplyDeletebetul seperti apa yang diperkatakan oleh Anonymous. minyat sawit tu utk goreng pisang bkn utk kereta. BODOH!!!
ReplyDeletekorang yg pandai2 ckp org bodoh ni lah yg super bodoh sebenarnya.at least he's got a ball to RnD and prove that palm oil got the potential.setakat dudok blakang pc sambil kutok2 lagik la loser cam harammm.wa respek lu bro min!keep it up
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
ReplyDeleteDont show ur stupid while u said others stupid. sama macam apa yang kau sumbangkan pada negara kalau kau selalu nak nafikan apa yg ko dari dari negara. get it?
good job bro.. lets tell me if u need extra sawit.. :D just kidding
lama tak tengok blog ni..
ReplyDeleteok, saya cuba reply sebaik mungkin :
:Bab Overheat:
`saya ni kaki mod keta, terutamanya enjin. antara yg modnya adalah stroker kit, pnp head, skim head, matspeed cam etc..so mmg saya nubis bab enjin.
head gasket putus tu sbb temp naik masa saya drive 180kmh..disebabkan tuning yang tak berapa cantik, afr minyak kurg, udara lebih, putus ler gasket tu. selepas tu tukar metal gasket, ejas balik campulley dan afr setting pakai innovate, sampai skrg tader masalah overheating dan gasket putus..bawak 190+kmh temp still maintain..so saya tak rasa gasket putus disebabkan oleh MINYAK PELINCIR! :)

ReplyDeleteminyak sawit leh pakai kat motorsikal tak
ReplyDeleteguna utk enjin campro boleh tak?
ReplyDeletenti gua nk try kt honda civic vtec la
ReplyDeletewah nampak cam menarik jer..
ReplyDeleteThanks 4 the homemade rnd. Boleh tak guna minyak sawit ni utk enjin keta viva?
ReplyDeleteWaahhh menariknya...nk gi service kat mana ya utk myvi guna minyak sawit ni?..klu gi kedai2 biasa kot diorg kata kita gila lak...plssss tolong bg contact mana nk gi service?...sy ayza...bleh bg no phone?..019-2209828...
